Charles Hodge (12/28/1797-6/19/1878)

Born in Philadelphia in 1797, he was raised in a Christian home. He graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1819, and he began teaching there the following year. He was editor of the Biblical Repertory (later called Princeton Review) for 43 years. In 1846, he was elected moderator of the Presbyterian Church.
